Description:
These sessions will be directed towards prospective candidates and local organizers. We will cover a number of topics with a focus on filing and paperwork requirements, reporting, organizing, and fundraising. We will be focusing heavily this year on teaching campaign fundamentals. We will be working hard to teach our folks to focus on building campaign and county organizations and building a volunteer and fundraising base. As the year goes on, follow up sessions will focus on how to utilize the resources we have built, then finally how be successful in the final months of a campaign by building on previous groundwork.
By taking an approach based on time tested campaign and organizing fundamentals, we hope to see much improved electoral results this year. Obviously, our efforts to build party organization at the local level is exactly what will drive future success for the national party and our own state party.
As I see it, the key to growing our party further and realizing success will depend on the ability to motivate and sell our folks on a more pragmatic and professional approach to campaigning and organizing. These training events are as much about instilling this mindset as much as delivering information. Any help you can provide in regards to appropriate speakers, possibly including yourselves, would be greatly appreciated.
In addition, I would like to invite Libertarians from neighboring states, VA and SC in particular, to participate. Passing this info along or assisting with introductions to key folks that can help get the word out to the members in those states would also be appreciated.
